I don't know if what I want to do is even possible, but I'd like to

3.9 Live CD. Is it possible to connect a second computer to an
ongoing telephone session? What would be necessary in order to do
it? Although it is something I'd like to do, there is no crisis if
I can't. It just would be nice. Thanks for any advice about this.

It is not possible to connect two modems to a single telephone line and have
them both working at once.
You would have to connect your two computers together with an ethernet
crossover cable and use the Internet sharing GUI in Mandrake Control Centre
to share a single dial up session.

If you don't want to go the Ethernet route, it is also possible to
network the computers using ether a null-modem serial cable and a serial
port on each machine. (PPP) It can also be done using parallel ports and
a laplink cable. (PLIP)
I am not sure about using the USB cable designed to network two
computers - I have never check to see if their are drivers for them.
