First you go to /usr/lib and be sure your as su and make a directory
netscape then make a directory plugins and that gives you the ability to
install flash as flash is directed to look for such a dir...
Once you install the plugins , go to konqueror and in plugins hit the
scan plugin bar and you should be fine..
Thanks for that....
Had to use my Mozilla Firefox directory in the end, as the flash player
wouldnt install into an empty netscape directory!
Hate to say I told you so (hey, doesn't hurt to try), but I was talking from
personal experience.
The flash install program has be written to check for the existence of
Netscape. Firefox is similar enough (the chrome directory and all that) that
it works. Anywhere else it refuses. They could have just given a warning and
an option to proceed, but they don't. The problem is with the flash plugin
installer itself. Other plugins may not have the same problem.
I hate to burst your bubble, but its running on my konqueror just fine
and I installed it to a empty /netscape/plugins dir and I think when he
tried to install it to that dir he may have forgot about the / in the
path somewhere...
As for his java, he needs to include the intire path for it such as
/usr/java/jre1.5.0_05/bin/java for it to work. I think he didn't go far
enough in to get the exec file...
But flash will install to a empty netscape/plugins dir. He may have
forgot the s on the word plugins for it to fail..
I'm just pointing out possibilities for a failed install...
He may have to install the motif file also for konqueror to run plugins...
