My kfind shows up where you said in the menu, and also under the
Actions section of the menu as Find -> Find Files. I have some other
useful stuff there, like Quick Browser (turns your whole home
directory into a nested menu) and Terminals. I don't remember what I
did to get those on there, though. I remember that they weren't on
the default menu.
It's also in Konqueror under Tools > Find Files and Folders

kfind from Run Command don't fly : "Klauncher could not be reached via
DCOP."
Nuffin happens when I select from the star popup menu : System ->
FileTools -> Find Files/Folders
Wierd thing is that I selected EVERYTHING when installing 2006.
Yet my popup menu has very few items on it ; less than that on Nicole's
old Dell Optiplex, which had a selective install.
I was able to delete unwanted popup menu items, but am confounded when
attempting to add items.
And several times I've had to use Add Software from the installation DVD.
