Do you have kat installed?  If so, you may be able to stop the problem 
when it occurs by stopping kat - which can be done from the tray icon.  
No-one has explained satisfactorily why there should be a problematic 
interraction between kat, kded and xorg, but there is one.  If you 
check top you will see that X is what is listed as running away, but if 
you uninstall kat the problem disappears.  At least that's what many 
people have found.
