The openoffice itself has mysql driver, so you don't
need any additional driver. When you want to create a
database, choose the connection as mysql-jdbc.
Of course, If you want to connect to a database and
openoffice doesn't know it, you should choose jdbc
connection and then openoffice asks you about location
and name of jdbc driver specific to your database
server,
