Far be it from me to dictate how someone chooses to post messages to the mailing list. However, if one is going to go to the trouble of creating a PGP key, and then configuring a mail client to sign messages going to a public mailing list, at least take the relatively small amount of additional time and post your public key to as many different key servers as you can.
When you fail to do this, the rest of us have to waste our time watching our own mail clients vainly attempt to download a non-existant key. And I, for one, am a bit peeved when that happens. Enough that I have started thinking of kill-filing posters who do this. If you have the time to configure a PGP signature, then you have the time to do all of it, THE RIGHT WAY. This includes the subsequent step of exporting your public key to public key servers so that the public has access to it. Otherwise, the signature is useless. I don't want to necessarily point any fingers but those of you who are PGP signing your messages probably know whether or not you have posted your key to at least 3 different public key servers. 3 should be the absolute minimum number of keyservers to insure propagation for public readers. And if you have posted a key and it is a different one than the one you used for signing messages, well, see my suggestion above. ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
