I just installed Mandrake 2006, and when I mouse over many things, I

take a screen capture of the bug, but it didn't display the cursor. Is
there some other prog I can use to capture the wierd cursor problem?

I suspect that the bar code pattern is just a block of uninitialised display memory. Maybe the display driver thinks your card has more memory than it actually has & is copying things into places where it can't read it back out from again :-)

Also, I seem to remember that the G400 series had some fancy stuff in there that allowed the card to cache display elements and this often caused problems in Windows. Maybe the same thing is happening here.

Maybe there's another driver you could choose.

I have a 32MB Matrox G400 running Mandrake 2006 OK. I'm using the "Matrox Millennium G400 DualHead" driver & "Xorg 6.9 with 3D hardware acceleration".
