I've seen several comments that people like the Mandriva distro itself, but are understandably frustrated with the newbie list management. This is leading quite a few to consider defecting to a new distro. But as the old cliche goes, we should be careful not to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
If the list management is the main problem, what's stopping someone from settig up a new list? Pick some better list management software than Sympa, put it on a server with available bandwidth, and post an announcement here. All interested parties can then migrate to the new list.
