Greetings,

I'm back after being unceremoniously 'bumped' from receiving messages
from the list. It's gotta be that verizon.net vs. mandriva (maybe
someone can create a spy vs. spy storybook not unlike the Mad Magazine
paperback series from the '70s ;<> ) thing still going on. Anyway, I am
currently enjoying 2006 fresh install except for home directory and with
the dkms system actually working <KNOCK ON WOOD>!. However, I am
experiencing a problem with using the keystroke sequence mentioned in
the subject of my message.

Below I have the output from my attempt to configure the keyboard from
<desktop><Preferences><keyboard><Layout Options>,special keys check box.
An error message pops up and suggests executing the following commands:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ xprop -root | grep XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xorg", "microsoft", "en_US", "",
"compose:rwin"
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xorg", "microsoft", "en_US", "",
"compose:rwin"
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripheral/keyboard/kbd
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$

I was able to edit the keyboard setup in mcc and the above, and get the
keystroke functionally back, however when I shutdown or reboot the
functionally loss returns.

I don't know if this problem has been discussed, if so my apologizes.
Otherwise any suggestions.

TIA,

Terry
