Hi all,
I have an eMachines laptop with built-in speakers. I can play
sound through the headphone jack out the back, but I can't get the
internal speakers to work. I have tried the "classic bug sound tester"
found in the mcc. Here is what I get for output:
lspcidrake -v | fgrep AUDIO
snd-ali5451 : Acer Laboratories Inc. [Ali] M5451 PCI South
Bridge Audio [MULTIMEDIA_AUDIO] (vendor:10b9 device:5451 subv:161f
subd:2036)
grep sound-slot /etc/modules.conf
(no output)
grep sound-slot /etc/modprobe.conf
alias sound-slot-0 snd-ali5451
/sbin/lsmod
shows that snd_ali5451 is loaded
/sbin/chkconfig --list sound
sound 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
/sbin/chkconfig --list alsa
sound 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
aumix -q
aumix: error opening mixer
/sbin/fuser -v /dev/dsp
/dev/dsp: No such file or directory
Anybody have any ideas where I should go from here?
Thanks!
