I forgot to ask, and didn't see it, so if you mentioned it I apologize... are
you running 2006?
I had to go into "configure your desktop", (this is under KDE, BTW), somewhere
under sound, and manually set the audio to 44100 because the system kept
setting it to 48xxx or somesuch. I believe it was with Doom3 and Quake4 that
I kept getting that same error message.
