You do need to update your Mandriva 2006 rpms on a fairly regular basis. It keeps your system healthy with security updates and improved applications. We can make this a fairly simple task however. If you go to the following website; http://www.linuxfordummies.org/addmedia/ you can follow the steps (be sure to click "proceed to step 2 and 3" buttons) I usually pick Main, Updates, Contrib, plf-free and plf-nonfree. This will give you a few lines of commands you enter as root user. It sets up online media for you to use for updating. Once that is complete, you only need to occasionally type as root user; urpmi.update -a && urpmi --auto-select That command will update your online media sources and then install any updated versions of Mandriva packages you have previously installed (including updating kernels). Hope this is helpful for you. benja22 ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
