Subject: [newbie] rdesktop 1.4 and Mandriva le 2006 openssl
error

Good morning all. I'm attempting to build a network management suite
on my laptop running Mandriva LE 2006, which enables me to monitor
and administrate my Windows 2000 network. One of the things I'm
working on right now is getting the remote desktop application up and
running. But I'm having a problem getting beyond the compiling stage
ATM.

The app I'm attempting to compile is called rdesktop (v 1.4 -
http://rdesktop.org). When I run ./configure I get an error that
says I need to re-run configure with the --with-openssl tag. However
running it with --with-openssl=/usr/bin (I have OpenSSL installed)
doesn't do the trick, and I've tried several other iterations of the
tag as well.

I read through the rdesktop archives last night and see that someone
else had a recent experience similar to mine, but he was compiling on
Debian. According to the response he got, rdesktop is actually
looking for the development library. I've searched high and low and
can not find any open-ssl development library anywhere. Does anyone
know if there is one, or what it might be called specifically?

Thanks for any assistance.
