Use the Mandriva version of RealPlayer, and you won't have this problem. As for BitDefender, you have to use the GCC3 version (make sure you got the correct one). Once installed, it won't appear in your menu because it's a commandline tool. Do a "bdc" from the commandline to verify that it installed correctly.
