I have a Motorola PCMCIA NIC for my laptop that uses the bcmwl5a.inf driver, so I guess our NICs are related. The bad news is that MCC had no luck at all using ndiswrapper to wake up my NIC. The good news is using ndiswrapper from the commandline is easy, and DOES work. The instructions are here: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Installation but it's basically something like this. As root, install the driver: 1) cd to the driver directory. 2) ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf 3) depmod -a 4) modprobe ndiswrapper And then configure it with iwconfig: 1) 'iwconfig' to find out the interface name (probably wlan0). 2) iwconfig wlan0 essid NAME key restricted XXXXXXXX I don't recall what I did to make it permanent, but it is.
