If it's a proper digital video camera and not just a still camera that does short videos, then it shold support firewire and optionally usb. Use firewire if you can as it's faster/easier. Install a program called Kino, which shold also drag in all the 1394 (firewire) driver packages as well, then plug in the camera and capture the video. Googling may find you some references to others doing it. Anything in the wiki, I think that was something Anne may have documented well?
