I don't use mandrivaonline but do use mandriva update.

You'll have to set up your urpmi.cfg file but going to this site, easyurpmi.zarb.org and following the steps will , once you tell it what mirror sites you want for main, contrib, updates, plf-free and plf-nonfree, give you the commands to enter on a command line to set up the file.

The file sits in /etc/urpmi. You will want to have the following at the top of the file:

{
        no-verify-rpm
        split-length:0
        downloader wget
}

Note: I use wget for my urpmi stuff as I find that curl tends to cough it's cookies too much. YMMV, of course.

Once you get the list of commands, in a terminal window (you must either be root or su to root for this), copy and paste each command in turn. Note that some commands, especially the updates one, will be more than one line! Make sure you get the entire line. URPMI will go through getting what it needs and checking things out.

Once you have gotten at least main and updates into your urpmi.cfg file, open the file with your favorite text editor and add the 5 lines above at the top of the file. Save it, do a urpmi.update -a to update everything and then do a urpmi --auto-select to get what files you will need. urpmi takes care of dependencies, etc.

This works for everything, including kernel updates.

HTH and if I forgot anything, someone add it please.

Thanks
