Not present here either ... but google says :
The rehash command recomputes the internal hash table of the
contents of directories listed in the path environmental variable to
account for new commands added.
seems to be part of the tcsh environment:
rehash is a 'csh' type built-in it does not exist in bash:$ bash
$ which rehash
-bash: type: rehash: not found
$ tcsh
$ which rehash
rehash: shell built-in command.
