After doing the newest Xorg security update the mouse button mapping
appears to have changed.
I had both the scroll wheel (working everywhere) and the forward and
back buttons (in Firefox only) working prior to the update with the
below settings without the need for imwheel.
After the update the settings for forward and back mouse button mapping
appear to have changed disabling the previous forward and back behavior,
though the scroll wheel is still working.
Any ideas regarding what the changes were and the new equivalent settings?
---------------------------------------
This is what I had to do to get the scroll wheel and forward and back
buttons working prior to this latest update:
/etc/X11/xinit.d/mouse_buttons
Change the existing entry to this:
xmodmap -e 'pointer = 1 2 3 10 11 4 5 6 7 8 9'
The original entry was: xmodmap -e 'pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5'
The mouse section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf is unchanged, and remains as
follows:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
EndSection
This worked on Mandriva 2006, and 2006 Christmas Club for me.
Ideas appreciated.
