Just managed to lose half a day trying to figure out why the keyboard stopped
working. Twigged it when I found that it still worked if I logged in as root.
Finally tracked it down in my KDE settings.
For anyone else stupid enough to get this, ensure you haven't checked the "use
slow keys" in keyboard filters in the Accessibility part of control centre.
