Some more info FWIW... Before I connected the analog audio cable back to the dvd drive, I played a music cd (uysing kscd) and played with the kmix settings to see what controls the playback. With all inputs off, and all outputs off except PCM (even master off!), I still get sound from the cd playback. When I turn off PCM, the sound stops. So there is no input setting to control sound coming from music cd playback, only the PCM output settings. Then I switched the cable (with the power off and a static strap on, of course) from the tv card back to the dvd drive, and booted back up. With PCM off, and all other inputs and outputs on, I still get no sound. Turning PCM on turns the sound on. In other words, no difference at all, whether the audio cable is connected or not. Ron -- Opinions are mine. Don't blame anyone else. Rely on them at your own risk. ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
