I was ready to jump on the bandwagon here, but ran a few
tests first.

updatedb did generate the notice, but updated the db also.

1. Created newfile
2. Looked for it with slocate.
3. Didn't find it.
4. Ran updatedb
5. Error message appeared.
6. Did slocate newfile.
7. Found it with slocate.
