(Sorry if this is a repeat but original never came back to my inbox)

Installed 2007 last week and been trying since to sort a couple of
problems.

I have both a CD/RW and DVD-ROM on my machine. Both drives recognise
data and audio CD's, ie the new Media found dialogue box comes up, but
place a DVD (ever a data or movie) in the DVD-ROM and nothing.

I'm a member of groups: audio, cdrom, cdwriter.

Permissions for /mnt are:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ cd /mnt
[EMAIL PROTECTED] mnt]$ ll
total 6
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 1024 Oct 28 15:34 cdrom/
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 1024 Oct 28 15:34 cdrom2/
drwxrwxrwx 0 root root 0 Nov 2 15:12 floppy/
drwxrwxrwx 8 david david 4096 Oct 30 10:05 removable1/
[EMAIL PROTECTED] mnt]$

and /var/log/messages says:
