Hi folks. Help needed again. I am running the download version of 2007
while waiting for the PowerPack+ box to arrive and had the deskbar
applet sitting on the GNOME panel. I have been using emacs for
close to 15 years and have grown used to shortcut keys for common
operations, in particular the function keys. These have always worked
until now. Currently the key assignments are overridden by whatever
drives the deskbar applet. Pressing F12 for instance brings up a help
window of some kind - most annoying. Does anybody know how to
suppress this behaviour, remove the deskbar bindings or whatever?
Removing the applet does not change anything so presumably the
underlying application or daemon should be removed or something
uninstalled. So far I haven't a clue.

Wishing you all a very happy festive season and a clear head for the
new year.

Len Lawrence
