It's the Safecom SWLPT-54125... I've found some Linux drivers for it now, but
I don't know this card but someone else will. I only use wifi at home
as my pc is nowhere near the phone socket and I don't want cables all
over. My main pclinuxos on laptop and pc are fine but my
distro-hopping always is a nightmare setting up the rt2500 usb card!!

IIRC, the rt2500 is supported by PCLinuxOS. Do a search of their forum for that chipset and you should be able to find out for sure. Any steps required to get it working will probably be mentioned there or in their Wiki.
