Subject: [newbie] Printer drivers

Hello
I am trying to hook up a lexmark x5250 printer, copier, scanner on
mandriva 2007 dell laptop. The printer was picked up on start up but the
message said there was no support for this particular model. I went to
lexmark website and it apppears they don't have any drivers available
either. What other options are available? Is there a particular brand
that has better support for linux? Your help is appreciated.
John

----cjs reply----
usually if the manufacturer doesn't supply drivers for the printer, then theres
a good chance that your printer is not linux compatible.
I tried google and found nothing. the links they had that referenced to the
linux drivers were broken.

Id recommend that you get an IBM printer. they work best under linux
