FIXED - Some tips for other newbies that follow my tracks :)

urpmi.update -a

See: http://www.mandrakehelp.com/RPM-HOWTO.html#3.5.4

The -a options is for 'All'. Following the update my problem went away and I was then able to install KDEWebDev

See: http://www.mandrakehelp.com/RPM-HOWTO.html

I found this a very helpful overview.

Moving from Debian to Mandriva, I was used to using apt-get.

I see that you just use different commands rather than switches.

Thanks again to everyone for your help.

Cheers Don

try urpmi --wget first, as the files seem to be there.
If that doesn't work, setup new sources as ET and Ben suggested.

Take a look at the wiki for an explanation of urpmi and its related
tools. http://wiki.mandriva.com/Tools/urpmi
