I too am seeing KDE slow down. It has worked quickly for months
after being installed. Suddenly yesterday it takes forever to load
KDE (2.1.1).  Netscape now takes a minute and change to load. Every app
seems to hang for a while in some for or fashion, either open or in some cases
closing.

My hosts is set up correctly and I don't even have fam. I assume
you meant this fam: /usr/ports/devel/fam

i have a AMD K6-2 400 with 256 megs of ram and a 8meg video card.
