Hi all I've never had much luck with installing X, and it seems my luck hasn't improved much except that now at least X is up and running =) My problem is, I'm not sure how to configure X to make it use more than 600x480. I've tried setting the HorizFreq in the XF86Config file, but that either ends up giving me a display set at like 1280x1700 (or something, I don't have the debug log handy). When using the defaults in the X config, I have only one video mode, ctrl-alt-+/- doesn't work. Didn't work when I tried telling it which HorizFreq to use either. Most of the sample configs I've tried looking at, no longer seem to apply to this version of X. My question is, what can I put into the config file to give me several usable display sizes? At the very least I'd like to be able to switch between 600x480, 800x600 and 1024x768. Ohh, I also tried using the "ativga" driver, but it's not being found (not sure why not. I had to compile from source cos the bins didn't work for me). I have a PII/266, 320M ram, using linux v.2.4.9, the newest glibc, ATI Radeon 128, AcerView 78ie monitor, etc. Any clues appreciated -C _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
