Hi,
You do realise that you are not using the S3 driver
but the standard "vga" drive (Device "Display1" in
your Section "Screen" instead of  Device "Standard
VGA" *why did you call them that way!!??!! which would
use driver "s3virge") the standard vga driver does not
support 16 bit depth which is your default in the
screen section...
Cleanup your XF86Config.new by 
1. giving reasonable names to your devices (for
instance setting the vga driver in the standard vga
device)
2. checkin the figures for your monitor, unless it is
a flat screen I suspect the HorizSync may not be what
it should (look at the specs) 
And 3. selecting as device in the screen section the
one which has the s3virge driver. 
Whether that driver is OK for the S3 Trio 66 I don't
know at worse use the vesa driver to get started and
work your way from there to the accelerated driver
which works for your card...
