I am new to BSD and it uses xf86. Heres the low down. When I try and run
Xwin I get an error message that says:
Fatal server error
Cannot open log file "/var/log/xfree86.0.log" unable to connect to X
server
xinit: connection refused (errno 61)
xinit: No such process (Errno 3) server error
xauth: Creating new authority file /home/jester/.Xautority
xauth: (argv:1:) bad display name ":0" in "remove" command
xauth: (argv:1:) bad display name ":0" in "remove" command
I get that when I try to start Xwin in root as well.
When I look at the XFree86.0.log it says
Module loader present
(::) log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time
(::) using config file: "/etc/xf86config"
data incomlete in file /etc/xf86config
device selection "primary card" must have a driver line
(EE) Problem Parsing the config file
(EE) error from XF86HandleConfigFile ()
Fatal server ERROR:
No screen found
I am assuming that the Primary card would be my video card considering
that what it looks like in the config file. I have the board time set to
diamond stealth III 540 and the vendorname is set to unknown. I am
totally stuck. If you have any ideas or know what I need to do to fix it.
