If you're using KDE and have enabled anti-aliased text, these are the only 
fonts that will be listed.  Furthermore, in this case no amount of messing 
the the X server font paths, nor xfs will have any effect on the set of 
fonts you can see.  

Selecting anti-aliasing actually switches KDE from using core X fonts
accessed from the X server to using client-side fonts accessed from disk,
and the only fonts available that way are the scalable fonts you see above.

You can see whether this is happening by trying:

$ export XFT_DEBUG=3
$ konsole

[EMAIL PROTECTED]        XFree86 Core Team              SuSE, Inc.
