I recently upgraded my Matrox video card from a G100 to a G200. Very few
lines needed to be changed in my XF86Config file to support this switch,
and the server seems to be running fine. However, after the change, the
log file for the server grows rapidly, filling up with the lines

GetModeLine - scrn: 0 clock: 157500
GetModeLine - hdsp: 1280 hbeg: 1344 hend: 1504 httl: 1728
              vdsp: 1024 vbeg: 1025 vend: 1028 vttl: 1072 flags: 5

repeated over and over again. I have a 64MB /var partition, and the log
file typically grows to fill the partition in a day or so. I can always
reroute the logfile (and the kdm logfile) to /dev/null, but I'd rather
just know why it's acting strangely and if I can stop it. Can anyone
suggest to me what is wrong? I have a bad feeling it's hardware related -
is that likely?

Thanks,

Kendall Hunter
