You'll need to get the gatos-ati driver from www.linuxvideo.org, which
enables the Xvideo extension on Rage Pro, Rage 128 and Radeon cards.

Just a question for X-mages out there: why haven't these changes been merged
into the XFree86 tree, or have they? (no cvs access at work, no phone line
at home :-(

Subject: [Newbie]Xvideo

Hi all,

I've recently got hold on a Haupauge WinTV Primio (BT848) teevee card, now
it works under win2k, but under linux I have a problem which I think is
specific for X :
I've compiled linux kernel 2.4.10 with module support for i2c, video4linux,
BT848+mixer.
My video card is an ATI Rage 128 Fury, i have DRI support compiled for this
card in the kernel, I also have a framebuffer running at 1280x1024 for the
console with the sun12x22 font.
If I compile XawTV, the utility fbtv which shows tv on the framebuffer
console works good, but as soon as I try to run xawtv in X (4.1.0) X locks
up completely, looks like the video card is not getting updates anymore, but
I can't ssh into the machine too :(.

Anyway, if more info is required, please contact me as soon as you can.

Best regards,
Jeroen.
