When you retyped the error, I see that the hostname indicated there is
wk133o, and you say that your hostname is wk133. Is this a typo? If not,
there's the problem (it's looking for a host called wk133o, which doesn't
exist...)

Subject: [Newbie]unable to open display

Under Mac OS X/Darwin XFree86 4.1.0, from the '>console' as well as in
XDarwin:

I log in to a remote system via ssh.
When I try to run 'mathematica' or any other GUI X app, I get the
following:
xset: unable to open display "wk133o:0.0"
My IP is wk133.boh.bvsd.k12.co.us
(which, I assume is the same wk133)

Anyway... I have no idea what I'm doing, but I want to be able to run IDL
at this iMac @ school, from the remote server.

In addition to startx and XDarwin,
I tried xterm
and xterm domain.com
But both complained of display errors.

Please help!
Thanks,
Harold Cooper
