I'm working on recently upgraded debian machine, running the
latest "unstable" version.

I'm using;

xfree86 version 4.1.0-6

fvwm version 2.4.0-3

Before the upgrade, the backingstore function of XFree86 worked. I use it
so that the histograms displayed in my Paw windows do not disappear when
another window is brought over the Paw window or when I move to a
different page and then back again. The screen section in XF86config-4 is;

Section "Screen"
        Option     "backingstore"
        Identifier "Screen0"
        Device "ATI Rage 128 (generic)"
        Monitor "Fujitsu VL-1700SS"
        DefaultDepth 16
        Subsection "Display"
                Depth 16
                Modes "1280x1024"
        EndSubSection
EndSection

Anyone know how I can correct this problem ? Or, perhaps this is not a
XF86 problem but an fvwm problem ?

Interestingly I don't have this problem when I use Paw++, only when using
Paw.

Cheers

Craig
