Hi All,
I have installed vector linux on a P166/16MB/630MB system. It was giving
some problem in the screen. We were using S3-864 with 1 MB RAM on-board
chipset for video.

The monitor is Digital make. I have XFree-86 4.1.0 that came with the
vector linux. Earlier i had some problems in the standard vga driver (
always it used 320 x 200 mode in spite of me changing any mode ). I
switched to vesa driver. that problem got solved.

The problem is : there is an offset in display. I am not able to access
top left corner of the screen. about 100 pixels it is displayed. If i
try to move the cursor to top of the screen, then the mouse appears at
bottom when i am about 100 pixels to top. The mouse moves from bottom
for another 100 pixels and stops. I am seeing shifted page contents at
screen bottom.

Any clues,

thanks in advance
- n gowrisankar.

I heard that if you play the Windows CD backwards, you
get a satanic message. That's nothing, if you play it
          forward, it installs Windows !!!
