I have an SiS 6326 card and had lots of trouble the first time I tried to
setup X.The 6326 can be a bit of a touchy video card to setup, but once
setup properly, it works great.

1) Which version of X are you using? 3.3.6 doesn't directly support the
6326, 4.0.3+ (I've been using 4.1.0) has accelerated drivers.

2) When you setup X did you use the text mode setup, xf86config? If you
did, at one point it asks you to select a clock chip, just press enter (not
in list/no clock chip), it will also ask if you want to probe clocks with
the probe only option, press n for no.

3) Check the XF86Config or XF86Config-4 file and make sure that the refresh
rates in the mode lines are ok. I had to manually change a couple of the
vertical refresh rates in order to get X to even start for me.

If you are using X version 3.3.6 I recommend that you upgrade to 4.0.3 or
higher (not lower, 4.0.3 fixed some bugs in the SiS drivers).

I hope some of this helps, anymore questions, feel free to contact me and
I'll do my best to help you.
