Dear People,

I made the terrible mistake of purchasing the the ATI RAdeon 64 meg DDR video
card for my linux system. I'm having such a time with it!

Everything works just great, except 3D!!! That is so incredibly buggy. The
folks at Loki solved my darkness problem with the xgamma command, but now I'm
having problems with gradually increasing and cumulative tracking and
fragmentation of any 3D accelerated game culminating after a few minutes in a
black screen.

I'm using Red Hat 7.2, which has xfree 4.1x, which I thought would solve most
Radeon 3D acceleration problems. Ya, right!

I also have an AMD 1.2 gig athlon Tbird, 768 megs RAM, SOYO K7VTA-B mb, 30+
gigs of free hard drive space on two drives, super VGA monitor, and some
other stuff, but I would think this would cover most 3D accerated gaming
problems.

Can anybody please clue me into any existing drivers, fixes, solutions,
projects, answers, gurus, user-groups, witch-doctors, government think-tanks
(ok, maybe not government think-tanks) - ANYTHING that might help get my
Radeon piece of junk working with linux! I'm perfectly willing to roll up my
sleeves and do work, even though admittedly my computer abilities are a
distant second to my computer ambitions - but I can learn!

If I don't get to play Descent 3 on the internet soon I'm going to explode
and get all my computer stuff gooey.
