[Newbie]help with XFree86

I am having GOBS of trouble with XFree86. I am using an AMD Athlon with the AMD 751 & 686A (Super South) chipset with a Creative Labs Annihalator Pro Geforce 256 32mb DDR card. I have diagnosed the video card as the problem with my Xfree86. Is the card not compatible? How can I fix it? When I went into Mandrake installation, it popped up the Penguin rainbow screen in high res/color. What's the problem now that I'm out of the install process?   Thanks Caleb
