Install of Xfree86.4.1.0 on mac G4 400 MHz PCI graphics running
OSX10.1 . I can't get XDarwin (or anything else X) working, but I sure
would appreciate some help doing so. I'm a bit of a know-nothing; I
just want X windows on my mac!
I did this:
1. Install via fink - did not work
2. download from mirror, install using Xinstall.sh - does not work.
3. Following previous post, enabled root user, su'd to root, then
installed again using Xinstall.sh and overwriting all except cyrillic
package (and never installed symbolic link to rstart as recommended in
install directions).
XDarwin start yields black screen for a while then crash :
Fatal server error:
assert failed on line 454 of darwinKeyboard.c!
Full Error Mesasges appended.
Any help would be appreciated.

Any advice on rootless server would also be appreciated.
