Heya arno,
I have the same exact laptop, and the same exact problem. If you'd like,
check out the result I get from running X in FreeBSD 4.4-RELEASE at
http://camera.unix-fu.org/elec/. That is what happens when run on the laptop
screen. The display after that is totally shot. When using an LCD at work
here, which is a NEC Multisync 1830, X used the nv driver beautifully. I'm
only hoping that this is a vsync and hsync issue. I attempted to get some
technical specifications from IBM, but they were of no help basically. If
you should hear anything, please feel free to keep me posted, as well as the
list considering I've seen others with different model laptops having the
same issue with nv drivers.
