Thanks for the advice.. (sorry for a delay in my response) .. that 
only partially fixed my problem.. now I have an extremely spastic 
mouse that kinda moves however it wants.  It matters very little 
how I move my mouse.. the pointer just goes where it wants, 
mostly.  It almost seems like I have the accelration set too high, 
but I can't find anyway to turn it down.

I see a lot of people with mouse trouble posting parts of their XFree 
configs.. I'd gladly post mine, but I don't know what part to post.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix my problem?  (To recap, it's a 
Logitech Serial mouse from the mid eighties.. which I'm determined 
to make work properly. :> )
