Ok, what you've gotta do is connect your monitor to the DVI output using the
DVI-VGA adapter. Then use XFree86 -configure to create a configuration for
the card. Make sure that you do 'modprobe agpgart;modprobe radeon' (or
configure it to run automagically) before running X if you want
HW-accelerated 3D.

Subject: [Newbie]ASUS A7M266 and Radeon VE

Hello
My Radeon VE is a 32 MB DDR.
I have installed the new Linux Suse 7.3, which includes Kernel 2.4.10
and XFree86 4.1.0 and the glibc 2.2.4.

When I run startx the screen goes black and locks up.

I have a Radeon VE Graphiccard, though (VE's have a DVI port and an
S-video port in addition to the VGA), as explained in some mails I will
need the DVI-VGA adapter, because a bug (misfeature?) in the driver
enables only the DVI output.

Can you please explain what I have to do in detail.

Thanks,
Georg
