This is not quite an XFree86 question...
anyhow,
Usually you use "mdir" "mcopy" etc... with windows drives giving them their drive id 
and using "/"
instead of "\" for instance if I want to copy "myfile" to a: then I would say 
mcopy myfile a:/myfile
to copy it back to /root for instance
mcopy a:/myfile /root/myfile
