Try fiddling with chmod

Use the command to change the ownership of the xauthority file to your 
sisters username (if it isn't owned by her already).  Check the file 
/etc/passwd has an entry in there for her home directory. If not put it in.  
Do chmod +arw xauthority or chmod 770 xauthority.....
