You may have to reinstall X, since the nVidia drivers step on DRI. Upgrade to 4.1.0 while you're at it if you're not already using it.

I had an nvidia card before and I installed those drivers but I don't know how to remove them. I installed my ati card and put the line load "dri" in my XF86Config file. The card works fine in 2d but when I also put the line in to load "glx" it crashes before it starts up, with a signal 11. With only the dri line I can't run 3d applications. I have Slackware 8.0 and it comes with X 4.1.0. I thought it was as easy as loading dri and glx.
