Hello, This weekend I decided to upgrade my heavily tweaked RH 6.2b box to RH 7.1 and lo and behold, my XFree86 4.1.0 setup got hosed. First of all, xwrapper does not seem to work properly. Starting X through Xwrapper results in the messages 'Waiting for X server to begin accepting connections' and a bunch of dots repeated ad infinitum (or so i seems). I thought making a symlink from X to /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 instead of /usr/X11R6/bin/Xwrapper might fix it. After giving XFree86 the suid bit I got a bit further. However, now X gets into graphical mode, than dies. The last line it spews to the console is: SESSION_MANAGER=local/localhost.localdomain:/tmp/.ICE-unix/18794 Removing /tmp/.ICE-unix doesn't help.
Any help on this would really be appreciated. Being stuck with Lynx to surf the web is not my idea of having fun. Regards, Walter __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
