I don't have redhat... I have Mandrake 8.1. I tried with another monitor
and everything worked fine.
The problem is my monitor... I can't get it to work... I tried fooling
around with xvidtune... but as soon as I press NEXT (resolution), the
screen turns black...
can it be that my monitor supports 1024*768 in ms windows, and can't do
more than 640*480 in Linux??? ----> sound pretty illogical!
I tried running SuperProbe (a display recognition tool (or so it seems))
and it said "Generic VGA or Unknown SVGA"
Any ideas?
I tried everything I know (which is very little since I installed Linux 1
week ago).
Please help me!
