Hi,

I'm not sure how possible this is considering the fundamental design of
XF86, but this is a feature request to modernize XF86. And if it's done
already, please direct me to the source.

I would love to see coloured mouse cursors of any size (within reason, maybe
256x256). Right now as it stands the black and white cursors really limit
the ability to offer animated (with colour) feedback when doing simple tasks
(executing a program). Now I understand that is the responsiblity of the
WM, but right now it's limited by XF86's B&W bitmap cursor scheme. Maybe
something like this could be made into a module for those who want it?

This could help people with disabilities, people with bad vision, even new
Linux desktop users. I've seen hacks put in place to make this possible.
Such as program activation feedback in KDE. But this is again, a hack.
It's has to play catchup with the cursor and consumes resources. It would
be nice to see this tied into the cursor instead of chasing it.

Thanks for listening.
